Dentures

A person may have missing teeth and sometimes it can be reconized as having a "sunken appearence" in their face and cheeks. They may also be less willing to smile because of their appearence. More importantly, their diet and overall general health can suffer from not being able to chew food properly. Depending on the amount of teeth missing, we may suggest partial or full dentures. During consultation we can address these options.

Partial

Partial dentures are ideal for those who are missing only a few to several teeth. Even if there is only a few teeth left in the dental arch, a partial denture may be the best alternative, since the remaining teeth serve as natural anchor points and retain bone over time.

Complete

When your no longer have teeth present in a dental arch, a complete denture can be the best and most economical solution. You can choose the traditional kind that rests on the bony ridge or choose to have those that are anchored by dental implants. The latter having the best retention, but involves surgery, increased expenses, and time. We can discuss all the details so you can make an informed decision.

Immediate

An immediate denture is the same as a regular full denture with some major advantages. The final impressions are taken with the remaining anterior teeth in place which is used for the construction of the new denture. These teeth are left until the denture is placed. At that time the teeth are extracted and the denture is adjusted and placed the same day. Thus you don't go without teeth during this time and the healing area where the teeth were extracted take form of the new denture. Resulting in a more precise fit. There is an initial accelerated bone-loss for about 4 months where teeth were extracted. A reline procedure to replace the bone-loss is necessary to maintain the proper fit at that time.
